(FAQ) Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Mandala?  The word “mandala is from the classical Indian language of Sanskrit to mean circle.  The mandala appears in all aspects of life:  the celestial circles we call earth, sun, moon and nature, as well as conceptual circles of friends, family and community.  Navajo Indians spend days creating Medicine wheels and sand paintings and Tibetan monks also spend days creating sand mandalas to demonstrate the impermanence of life.  This workshop is offered in hope of compassionate “healing for ourselves, our communities, our families, our nation and our world.”  I’m inviting ALL who are interested in making stronger connections with others

to come participate in this workshop using expressive arts and intuition… healing ourselves, thereby

 honoring our sacred spirit.

What materials do I need?   ALL art supplies will be provided to create your nature mandala and painted mandala.

What is the workshop agenda?   We will begin with opening circle meeting new friends and learn how I use EXPRESSIVE ARTS with nature, meditation, movement, music, storytelling, and the painting process to facilitate this deeply healing and creative workshop.  I’ll encourage workshop participants to tap into the mindset of living in the moment of NOW.  I will give a tour of the studio so everyone will be able to locate ALL supplies provided.   As facilitator, I’ll be available to help anyone who needs me while creating their own unique mandala.

Why create a mandala??? Awareness of mandalas may have the potential of changing how we see ourselves, our planet, and perhaps even our own life purpose.”   I believe our communities and the world in general needs more compassion, prayers, love and healing at this time.

How will I know what to create on my mandala?  Everyone will be encouraged during opening circle to begin thinking of special symbols which have meaning to them.  They will have time to think of these symbols during the guided meditation, during their walk around the farm collecting materials for creating their nature mandala.  When its time for you to paint your mandala… those special symbols will already be in your mind.  You’ll be encouraged to relax during this entire workshop… giving yourself the gift of time, accepting that you are ENOUGH by finding your way back to creativity and imagination. Many people never give themselves the opportunity to get in touch with their own creative playfulness, letting go of that self-judging inner critic voice.  I hope you will give yourself the gift of time and join me at this MAGICAL WORKSHOP…  no experience is needed to have a WONDERFUL and fun creative and artful day!

What do you mean “EXPRESSIVE ARTS”?  Expressive Arts is therapeutic and healing.  Using this type of art means taking time out of your busy life to just be still… giving yourself the GIFT of time… tapping into the moment of NOW… using paint, pencils, markers, etc. createsan amazing meditative flow which I call the “Portal of Creativity”.   You lose ALL sense of time and are shocked when it’s time to clean up.  Using Expressive Arts begins to be addictive where you crave that feeling of peacefulness, happiness, being focused and engaged in what you are doing!  Students tell me that they can’t believe its time to clean-up or stop creating when they are in their creative flow!

Why seven hours?  This time will be used to create an individual nature mandala using found objects and to paint a beautiful, meditative mandala.  During morning session we’ll create nature mandalas… then break for lunch.  Afternoon session you’ll paint a mandala on stretched gallery wrapped canvas using beautiful lines and colors.  Seven hours provides enough time to finish creating both projects.   Everyone will be invited to share after painting session provided the opportunity to hold sacred compassionate space for each other while displaying their completed creative projects.

What is the cost?  The workshop is $125 which covers ALL materials plus lunch.

Cancellation Policy: No money refunds however, you may use the money to register for a future class, workshop, or retreat.
