wisdom”.  They believe their prayers were blown by the wind into ALL space to spread goodwill and compassion.

This workshop is offered in hope of “healing for ourselves, our communities, our families, our nation and our world.”  Participants will use expressive arts to create a unique prayer flag to honor your sacred spirit.  ART experience not necessary for this meaningful and creative workshop.

In this exciting encaustic class Marcia will show you how she uses shellac and alcohol inks to create kaleidoscope landscapes

as well as flowers. We will cover how to use a blow torch, how to safely set up your own encaustic space, and how let go and enjoy the painting process. This class is great for intermediate and beginners as well.

What is Encaustic?

Encaustic is a beeswax-based paint that is kept molten on a heated palette. It is applied to a surface and reheated to fuse the paint into a uniform enamel-like finish.  The term “Encaustic” is derived from the Greek word “enkaien” which means “to burn into”. This procedure of applying molten colored wax to various surfaces was used by the Egyptians more than 2,000 years ago – the resulting paintings are in museums all over the world.

As your Expressive Arts Facilitator, I create a safe space for you to be seen and heard for your unique, amazing, creative, imaginative self as you explore, play and heal yourself with love and compassion by following your (emotions = energy in motion) through the process of Intuitive Painting.

Expressive Arts INTUITIVE PROCESS painting is where students experience a peaceful and meditative creative environment.  This painting practice encourages “letting go of things that get in the way of full creative expression like perfectionism, comparison and the need for external approval.  It supports students in claiming the courage to explore and experiment, to make things up and take outrageous creative risks.

This painting practice helps students form a deeper relationship to their intuition by listening to its signals telling them what colors to choose or shapes to paint.  This painting practice is meditative and students will eventually be able to tell the difference between their intuitive intelligence and their analytical/judging mind.”

Painting experience isn’t necessary to have a meaningful and creative time.  Intuitive process painting opens up your heART and soul to experience joy, freedom, and incredible self awareness that you are enough just as you are.  This type of painting helps you tap into a portal of creativity finding the path to your own creative source and gives you a way to fearlessly explore unknown aspects of yourself using your favorite colors and a paint brush.
